Four Q

Four Q

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could clone yourself. At the moment I am working on different things on two different machines. My HP TouchSmart PC on the left and the IMac on the right. Both have built in webcams – and it’s fun taking the occasional picture of yourself. As I take a lot of photos – but ones are taken of me.
On the Mac it has a nice little application called Photo Booth – you can do some fun things in  there as per image…  It looks like the cloning has gone wrong with these four versions of me.

If you want some better images taken of yourself for your website or flyers, we are always just a phone call away and happy to help out! – Email us today: debra@xq.co.nz

Remember my name!

Remember FAME. In the new version, Fame follows a talented group of dancers, singers, actors, and artists over four years at the New York City High School of Performing Arts. The new title song by Naturi Naughton is nothing like my memories of Irene Cara…
Oh – the days of watching the Fame TV series on TV back in the early 80’s – I believe we still have the original soundtracks on vinyl – I guess the teenagers of today will only know the new songs now on their I-pods.
Talking about I-pods, looking at one of the movie posters for the new FAME, I couldn’t help noticing that it felt like Coca Cola and I-pod had a baby! Look for your self and tell me what you think. I guess we will wait for this version to come on DVD or Blu-Ray.

Coca Cola + IPod = FAME :)

Coca Cola + IPod = FAME :)

Poster Boy

postersOne of my passions is the movie poster. Over the years I have collected many of them – some of them graced my walls for a long time, others doomed to stay rolled up forever in the dark dungeon (otherwise known as The Garage). My dream is to, one day, create a REAL movie poster… Maybe when my son (12) takes his video making serious I could be doing a poster for one of his movies in the future.

I have done some parody posters – some of them used for one of our clients, KiwiPetz (check them out in their shop). I don’t actively go out and get posters from video dvd shops anymore, I do collect the classic posters that come with my favourite movie magazine, Empire. Plus I check several online sources for the latest movie poster action.

While I was looking through the Fatso site - I came across the movie ”Knights of Bloodsteel” – and behold, doesn’t the movie poster look A LOT like the “Return of the King” poster! – I have placed them side by side. What do you think!

The MacDonald family discovering some great old photos

When we were at a reunion of my wife Debra’s family, a box with very old photos turned up. Some even dating back to the first World War. Some of the images made it home with us, so I could scan them and touch them up. As there are no negatives for these small photos and most of the family wanting copies, we are now planning to create a special photo book that will showcase the historic black and white images.

In my facebook photo gallery are a few samples of the photos as they were cleaned up – with the orginal beside them.

Remember – we can restore your images as well – make sure to contact us for more information!

Writer’s BloQ

me2009So, everybody has a blog these days. Having been online for many years now and after a few blogging attempts here and there, I thought it was time to add a BloQ to the XQ site (with technical thanks to Lex – for setting things up) . When you Google “eRiQ”, the first related item you’ll find is http://eriq.deviantart.com/ - my gallery of photos and digital art that includes a journal. The second link is http://www.eriq.co.nz/ my own personal website for cartooning and illustrations.
But now – hopefully this BloQ will show up as well – over time :)

In this BloQ I will be talking about things that interest me and that I believe might be of interest to you. Movies, books, computer tips etc …
I hope to see some feedback – comments – but I am not counting on it.
